We recognise that family members and important others in the lives of our clients are as much a part of the therapy process as our clients.
They have also been impacted by the injury, often in devastating ways, and as carers, have a challenging and often difficult road ahead.
We believe it is vital they really understand the nature of the challenges faced by the person with the brain injury and what it means in terms of day to day life.
We will work with families such that they know how best to support and respond to the person with brain injury.
We also believe that they need support as much as the person with the injury.
A brain injury happens to a family, not just an individual.
Liz is a qualified counsellor with many years of ABI Counselling experience. She can offer practical and emotional support to the person with the injury and their family members along the way.
